How to Use an International Keyboard for Accented Characters

The default U.S. keyboard doesn't work well when typing foreign words because there's no easy way to add Rosetta Stone V3 accented characters. You can find these special characters in the "Character Map," but that becomes tedious If you are composing foreign text with more than a few accented letters. A better alternative is to switch to an international keyboard with convenient shortcuts for adding accents to Rosetta Stone Spanish Spain characters. Instructions Selecting International Keyboard1Click the "Start" button, type "intl.cpl" (without quotes) and press "Enter."2Click "Change keyboards" in the "Keyboards and other input languages" section of the "Keyboard and Languages" tab.3Click "Add" from the "Text Services and Input Languages" window.4Check "United States-International," under the expanded "English (United States) section and click "OK."5Click the drop-down menu under "Default input language" of the "Text Services and Input Languages" window. Select "English (United States) - United Rosetta Stone Spanish V3 States-International" and click "OK" to change to the international keyboard.Entering Accents1Open your word processing document in Notepad, Wordpad or Word.2Press the "apostrophe" key (') and type the letter you wanted accented to enter the letter with an acute, left-to-right accent mark over it. This works for the letters c, e, y, u, i, o and a.3Press the "accent grave" key (`), located below the tilde, and [ Rosetta Stone Software ] type a vowel to add the character with a grave, right-to-left accent over it.
